To understand how this
axis functions, consider Figure 7.5, an overhead view of a
rudimentary two-character scene. Let's say that the action
of this scene is Brent and Lilly talking to one another in
a cafeteria. The axis, or line of action, then, runs through
the two of them. The continuity system dictates that cameras
remain on one side of that axis.
