Research/Teaching/Creative Work: His research focuses on impacts of new and old communication technologies on social change and community development. His research addresses substantive issues including the role of communication resources on building community/civil society, the relationship between new and old media in people's everyday lives, children's use of new media, contextual and geographical effects on communication behaviors, digital divides, and communication approaches to globalization issues. He is also interested in advanced methods in multi-level and ecological communication research
